Inthe evening of November 22nd, 2019 Freshman Evening Party of Foreign LanguageSchool, “New Journey in New Era” was held as scheduled in the auditorium. Thedistinguished leaders and guests attending the party included the PartySecretary, Dai Yingfeng, the Dean of Foreign Language School, Zhang Liyu, thecommittee member of division level, Wei Yingzhong, the vice Party Secretary,Chen Xiaoxi, the vice deans, Yi Lixin, Lv Wangying, Li Minjie and Deng Zhiyu,the office administrator, Zhang Xiaotao, the director of each department, thecounselor of each class, teachers of each major and leadership from otherschools.

Beforethe evening party started, some awards were granted to students for theiroutstanding performance in academy and social practice or for their greatleadership including students who had got scholarship, students withdistinctive honor, outstanding students and students leaders, assistantcouncilors of undergraduate students, advanced classes, several groups ofstudents who went to the countryside to do field trip research and theiradvisers and winners of various disciplines competitions. They were awardedcertificates of honor by the Party Secretary, Dai Yingfeng and the Dean ofForeign Language School, Zhang Liyu.

Theevening party kicked off with the opening dance “Lucky Strike”, which set theatmosphere on fire quickly with its energetic movement. There were a variety ofprograms, especially the unique dances: the jazz dance “Waiting for You” by theArt Troupe of Foreign Languages School was brimmed with the sense of youth andenergy, kindling the constant cheers of the audience; the folk dance “Mypeople, My country” presented lively national culture in the form of a mixeddance, whose dancers can be either as graceful as a wicker blows water, or asstrong as an eagle hovering high in the sky; the program performed by theassistant councilors “Just for Laughs” warmed the heart of the audience with anelaborate video and likable dance.

Singingprograms were characterized by their melodious tunes. The program “A Song ofThree Countries” performed by vocal music team integrated English, Japanese andKorean, bringing us an exotic feeling with emotional songs and demonstrated thecharacteristics of our school in the meantime; the “Grain in Ear” brought bymusical instrument team presented the solar term with folk music, whose tuneslingered in the hall; the “Cloud in the Hometown” performed by vocal music teamslowly told the thoughts of millions of wanderers toward their hometowns withmellow and sweet songs; the western music “Long Time Ago” performed by musicalinstrument team brought us back to the summer when we were moved, with themelodies flowing through their fingers; the chorus “Starry Night” was performedjointly by Class 1902, 1903 and 1904 of English Majors and Class 1901 and 1902of Japanese Majors, which covered English, Japanese and Chinese, presenting uswith a beautiful night in which meteors across couldn’t help but stopped toenjoy.

Thelanguage programs offered audience with endless aftertastes. The drama “Wind inMay Fourth” was played by Class 1901, the actors of which brought the audienceback to the passionate national salvation movement with their skillful acting,making those scenes reappear in front of us; the dumb show “Farewell, Marchingon the Road”performed by language teamdeepened the thoughts with gestures.

TheEvening party rung down the curtain with the vocal music team’s performance “WeAre Dream Chasers”. The vigorous song represented the image of our students asbrave dream chasers and of our great ambitions.
