According to “Guiding Opinions of theSCUN Implementation of Major Sub-Division (No. 17, [2018]) and “Notice of theSCUN Implementation of Major Sub-Division for Undergraduate Students in theSecond Semester of the 2019-2020 Academic Year”, students of Foreign Languageand Literature major of Grade 2019 will be trained according to their majordirection from the 3rd semester. In order to successfully organize and carryout the work of division of major categories of students and ensure the smoothimplementation of teaching activities, and in accordance with the principles offairness, justice and openness, CFL has worked out the work arrangements fordivision of major categories of Foreign Language and Literature in Grade 2019

IV. Number of Students Each Major toAccept

There are 199 students currentlyregistered in the major of Foreign Language and Literature and will besub-divided into three majors, English, Business English and Translation. Themaximum acceptance numbers of each major are showed below.

V. Sub-Dividing Methods

According to the students’ individualchoices, and reference to each’s academic performance, the final result will bedetermined.

Students should fill in the first,second and third choice forms (the attached form) according to their ownintention and wishes. CFL will accept students according to the choices'information, and follow the rules of Students’ choice the first, academicperformance the second.

(1) When the total number of firstchoice applicants is less than that of the professional admission scheme, thestudents will be enrolled directly.

(2) When the total number of first-choiceapplicants exceeds the number of enroll schemes, students will be enrolled inthe order of their training scheme average score from the highest to thelowest.

(3) When the enrolling number of thefirst choice meet the accepting goal of the major, it will not involve the nextrounds of enrolling. When the first choice major completes the enrolling work,it could accept students ordered by the second, third choice if this majorstill has empty seats

VI. Time Schedule

At the beginning of May, each major willorganize online publicity meetings for the major division. In this way, wecould do a good job in mobilizing students, guiding them to fully analyze theirown conditions, fully understand the characteristics of each major, socialneeds and employment prospects, and guiding them to choose their major.

May 7-11: Students should fill out theintention form, sign and take photos, then hand it to the college by class.

May 12-20: The Working Group willsub-divide the students according to this plan.

May 22-24: The final list will bepublished. During the public announcement period, if there is any objection tothe admission list, the students shall submit a written opinion to the leadinggroup using real names. The leading group shall verify and process the writtenopinions then notify the involving people.

After the official start of thesemester, students need to sign and confirm on the major sub-division list.

VII. Points to Note

1. Please pay attention to the relevantnotice published on CFL official website in time, and get involved in the majorsub-division work on time. Students failed to fill out the major sub-divisionchoice form will be arranged by the college.

2. Thepublicity period of this plan is 3 days. If you have any objection during thepublicity period, please report to the leading group.

3. CFL is responsible for theinterpretation of this plan and outstanding issues.
